This past January I had the pleasure of staying in 30A (Santa Rosa Beach) Florida to celebrate my sisters 30th birthday - and let me tell you, the area and the accommodations were breathtaking! I have been to Florida hundreds of times with friends, family, groups etc. and I was truly blown away.

Of course keep in mind this is January so we got to experience what I imagine is considered "Luxury" in this area for a steal of a price. But read on for some tips and a general itinerary of things to do and places to stay in 30A!
The Ultimate 30A Weekend Itinerary: Where to Stay & What to Do
30A, Florida, is known for its scenic beaches, charming shops, walkability, and perfect spots for a laid-back vacation. Whether you're celebrating or just need a weekend escape, this itinerary is perfect for a group-sized, fun-filled trip to 30A.
Where to Stay: Renting a house is the way to go for group trips. We found a spacious rental through Airbnb that included a complimentary golf cart, bikes, a heated pool, and all the essentials for a perfect stay. (Booking outside of the peak season was a major hack). Thanks to the property management company "Southern Holiday Homes", we stayed in the most amazing home - they also have a few other listings in the area but we chose this one . You can also check out VRBO.com, or Booking.com for more budget friendly options. (Check out the tour of our Airbnb on TikTok!)
What to Eat: There are a bunch of restaurants along the highway 30A that you can get to on the Golf Carts or bikes. We tried a few but my favorite was by far the 30A Coffee Shoppe that made the best London Fog I have ever had.
It was cold when we were there (And even snowed) a few weeks after we left but the beach is a must see anytime it's near. There are bars and nightlife in the area as well but we didn't get to try any of those out this time.
There are quite a few things I plan to do on my next trip to the area (because yes I will be coming back) but our lowkey weekend was memorable all the same - hopefully you can find some inspiration for your next trip in the itinerary below!
Itinerary:
Friday:
Arrival & Lunch at Bistrology – A great way to kick off the weekend with good food and drinks.
Check-in – Settle into the rental home and get familiar with the amenities. (The linked home particularly has a 4pm check-in)
Relax & Explore – Visit the beach, explore boutiques, and enjoy the laid-back vibe.
Grocery Run – Pick up essentials for breakfast and snacks.
Casual Evening by the Pool – Unwind with drinks and conversation.
Saturday:
Breakfast bar and Mimosas – Using the awesome serving dishes provided by the Airbnb, create a breakfast bar.
Beach & Shopping – Stroll along the shore and check out local stores.
Lunch at Pizza by the Sea – A quick and tasty meal out and about.
Relax & Pool Time – Enjoy downtime at the rental.
Dinner at Roux 30A – Dress up for a night out at a restaurant (Reservations encouraged)
Sunday:
Morning Coffee/Bites at 30A Coffee Shop – Ride the golf cart for a last-day exploration
Pack Up & Departure – One last stroll before heading home.

Things to keep in mind:
30A is a very walkable area so wherever you stay, try to find a place that either offers golf carts or bikes, or is close to the walking path! We only utilized a car to get to the grocery store! (This saves on needing to have a rental).
No matter where you go, be friendly and respectful to everyone you meet! This area is home to many retirees and older families in the "off-season"
Florida may be the most visited US State for vacations but there is a valid reason for that when there are gems like the 30A / Santa Rosa Beach Area.
Until Next time!
